Top 5 Holiday Must Haves

Missy is another amazing blogger who stepped up quickly with a guest post for me.  We found each others blogs through For the Love of Blogs (if you've never visited you should!)  She shares with us the top 5 things that she must have for a great holiday (or vacation, as we say in the US).

Before I begin let me introduce myself. I’m Missy from ‘If it’s not ok, then it’s not the end’. I have been allowed to guest blog for the day and I’m blogging all about holidays. I thought about my favourite holiday and couldn’t come up with a definite favourite. I could think of lots of things which I loved about my holidays so I decided to compile a list of 5 favourite things which make a fabulous holiday for me.

5: Hotels

I have this thing that I love hotel rooms and like to be the first person in to have a peek around. I like to have a wander and check out the bathroom and all the little things. I just absolutely love the excitement of what a hotel room is like. This means that I very much set myself up for a fall! As I have such huge expectations of how nice rooms will be I get extremely disappointed when things are wrong. After all, I like a little luxury on holiday.

Here is one of my favourite rooms from when I went to Miami:

4: Good Company

I love holidays with friends. Every year I try to go away with Miss Twin and best friends. We like to have an Easter break together to have a proper girly get together and have some fun. A favourite place of ours has been Nice in the south of France. We have been a couple of times and each time we go we love to wander and visit other places as the rail network is great. We all went in the Summer one time and had the great sunshine and managed to get a very nice tan. Plus the nightlife
is pretty cool!! Also, another plus of having good company is that you can be yourself and be a bit silly. Who wants to be serious anyway? Plus it means that if things such as being stranded due to volcanic ash or having a case bust open on the luggage belt then you can deal without problems!(yes...I have been on holidays including both as well as other tests!).

3: Great places to visit

Yes I love the sunbathing and the laziness but I do like the idea of places which have some things to see and do. I am beginning to enjoy holidays which have two destinations; a city and a sunshine destination. This allows me to get the perfect mix of exploration and sun worshipping. A favourite city of mine has to be NYC. If you read my blog, you will know that I love to visit that place and would like to think that in the future I could call it home for some time. Due to this I would say that having somewhere to explore makes a great holiday.

2: Nightlife

I LOVE going out for a dance and drink. I love to get out with friends and have a fun time. Therefore when I go on holiday I like to make sure that there are nice areas to go out in. It doesn’t need to have masses of nightclubs. Just bars or things to visit are great. On a recent holiday I went to a gorgeous New York rooftop bar. The place was just perfect. It had a great view and the weather was lovely to sit out and have a drink. As you can see from the pictures below anything from the theatre to gambling in Vegas will keep me happy!

1: Sunshine

Of course, this is one of my musts! As I am from the UK I am used to rain, rain... and more rain. Therefore if you visit the UK when there is a little sunshine or warmth you will see everyone in their little t-shirts and shorts. We take any sun we can. Therefore when I go on summer holidays I like to go to places which have sun. One year I went to Turkey and the weather was glorious. There was not a single cloud at all! Don’t get me wrong though, I went on my first ‘cold’ holiday in February
and loved it. I am ready for sun now however. One of my most memorable holidays for weather was sitting on a beach in St Petersburg in Florida when it was pretty empty. The whole place had such a great feel to it. It was so relaxing and peaceful. That’s what I like on holidays...a moment of peacefulness.

I am hoping that after reading my list that you will be reminiscing about your own favourite holidays!!
