Hi! I'm Poekitten! That might seem like a silly name to use online. I created it back when I needed a screen name for my AOL account back in high school (or it might have been middle school. I can't remember!) I don't want to tell you how long ago that was but the fact that we used AOL like most of the people we knew dates me. It was more that ten years ago (who am I kidding...it was more than 15+ years ago!) I've been using the name for so long that it fits. There are a lot of words I can use to describe who I am. I was born and raised in New England and have been transplanted to the Pacific Northwest. I'm a wife to a veteran submariner. I'm a semi-crunchy Mama to a toddler and an infant. In my previous life I was a teacher; now I'm a stay at home mom. I love spending my days with my daughters as I know this time with them is short.
I started blogging to keep in touch with family & friends that were far away. Almost 5 years later I'm still writing. I write about the things I want to write about. I share about Munchkin and Punkin and it's become a way I'll remember what these days are like. I share recipes so I don't forget them and to help give you ideas.
