Miss Molly didn't mind not having a bath. The Man called her and told her to get in the tub. She normally gets in with a look of pain on her face. This time she trotted up to the man and when he pointed into the bathroom and said "Get in the tub" she refused. He said a few more times and she turned around and got on the sofa next to me. She put her head down and looked up at me with a look that said "Save me mom!" I jut laughed at her and called The Man. We laughed at her together. Then I helped him get her in the tub.
Then The Man decided that he wanted to give the cats a bath. With the dog. At the same time. He managed to get Alley Cat in the tub with Molly (it helps that our tub has the sliding shower doors.) He was going to get Iggymans but I convinced him not too. So he hopped in the tub with the two of them to give them a bath. Once the bathroom he closed the door and Iggymans just kept sniffing around. He knew something fishy was going on.
I didn't hear anything from them for a bit. All of a sudden I hear Alley Cat crying. This is the cat that almost never makes a sound. It was just crazy. I went it and convinced The Man to give me Allen. He opens the shower door and hands me a dripping wet cat. I dry him off the best I could and take him out. I put him down and kept towel drying him. He starts licking himself and Iggymans comes over to help. He has a bewildered look on his face. He couldn't figure out what happened!

The Man is going to get Iggymans in the tub next time. He thinks they should be bathed every 6 months. I said that's fine, as long as he's the one giving them the bath!
Have you ever given your cats a bath? How often to you bathe your pets?
Good thing you conviced him that giving cats and dogs baths together wasn't a great idea!! I can just imagine how that would have turned out!!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was growing up in GA, we used to only bathe our cats in the summer. We never did the hair dryer method - instead we just put them out on the screened-in back porch to dry. They HATED getting baths.
ReplyDeleteAnd my cat Frisky (who still lives with my parents) is indoor/outdoor and hasn't had a proper bath in YEARS, probably not since I moved out. Every time I go home, I feel like I should bathe him, but I never have enough time.
I have no idea how your husband survived giving a cat a bath.
ReplyDeleteWhen I had my cat... I used to bathe her about 2 times a month... I really thought I was the only one 'crazy' enough to put a cat in water and bathe it. It's good to know I'm not :0)
ReplyDeleteWow, that's brave. I'll be honest, and maybe it's gross, but my cat is 18 years old and I don't think I've ever given him a bath. He doesn't stink so we figure that's good enough. Plus, I used to think they were self cleaning. Although, I heard a funny quote "Cats aren't clean, they're just covered with cat spit."
