Prompt: Wisdom. What was the wisest decision you made this year, and how did it play out?
Oh, what a hard question. I played some Bejeweled Blitz and watched some West Wing season 1 to help me think. On a superficial level I would say it would be buying the ceramic heater I have going at my feet. I'm nice and toasty warm on this rainy, cold night.
On a deeper level this is much, much harder. I would have to say that the wisest decision I have made this year has been to continue to support my husband, even when I disagree with him or am upset, angry or frustrated with his choices. We have learned in a very real way how his personal decisions affect us as a couple.
When I took my vows, I promised to be his faithful partner in good times and bad. I promised to love him unconditionally. The wisest decision I have made is to keep those vows. Just as picking up my cross and following Jesus is a daily choice, choosing to keep my wedding vows is also something I choose to do daily. Choosing to forgive and move on, is the choice I have made. It doesn't mean it's always easy. It doesn't mean that I'm perfect. It means that together we will overcome the difficulties before us and be stronger for it.
