A Dishwasher = A Happy Wife

Before...the stove
used to be in the empty space
It's the little things in life.  At the moment it's the fact that my husband is installing a dishwasher!  I am beyond excited...I will no longer have to hand wash everything!

We bought the house knowing that we would be rearranging the kitchen.  One of the items on the list was to install a dishwasher...just as soon as we got hooked up to the town sewer.  The only problem is that we had to wait for the sewer to be put in.  Thankfully the town has hooked us up in August...ahead of schedule no less!

The Man working on the plumbing
When we bought the house, the stove was where the dishwasher is.  We moved the stove over and have made an island and will eventually add a 1/2 wall and a counter with a cabinet.  The Man found some wood downstairs and made to shelves, one for the microwave and one to extend the counter (which we desperately needed since we were lacking in counter space!)
The New  Dishwasher
The Man was hoping to surprise me by having the dishwasher installed when I came back but it didn't happen.  He found the dishwasher on Craigslist for $45.  Buying the materials needed to install cost around $30.  So for $75 we have a working dishwasher.  I am one happy wife!

And because my parents haven't been to our house yet, I'm going to include a few more pictures of the kitchen.  Mom, these are for you!

I'm not sure what's up with the spacing but no matter what I try I can't get it the way I want.  Sorry about that!
