Land vs. World

Disney, that is.  Growing up, my family always went to Disney World.  We didn't go every year, but I've been several times.  I LOVE Disney.  When I lived in Asia I told my parents they could travel where ever they wanted but there was one place they couldn't go without me.  Disney World.  My favorite park is Epcot.  I don't know what it is, but I love the innovation and imagination that is there.  I also really enjoy the country showcase.  Don't get me wrong, I love all the parks and each has something special. I haven't been since 2005...I'm in need of some time in Disney!

The Man has never been to Disney World.  Growing up on the West Coast, his family would go to Disney Land.  He had great memories from going there as a kid.  He hasn't been since California Adventure opened.

So, we're looking at heading to Disney Land this year.  Thank you tax return!  We haven't definitely decided yet but we keep talking about it and I'm keep excited.  We've watched a documentary on Disney Land Behind the Scenes and I really, really want to go.  A lot.  I feel like a little kid who can't wait to go.  I'm excited to go and see how different it is from Disney World.  It's Disney, so I know we'll have a great time!

Which park have you been to?
What is your favorite part of Disney?
If you've been to both, which park is your favorite and why?

  1. I love WDW. I've been to Disneyland once many years ago. Growing up on the East Coast it was easier to go to FL though. My parents are part of the Disney timeshare program, so that is where we are headed this spring/summer when my hubby returns. I like the diversity that is offered at WDW since they have the 4 different parks, but I don't know much about Disneyland. And as you said, it's Disney--it has to be awesome. I hope you get to go enjoy a trip there. If you do, I'd love to hear your thoughts on Land vs. World.

  2. So if I was "the man" I'd book the trip and not tell you till we were getting ready to leave? Sound familiar???? Hope you two get to go and I know you'll have lots of fun. I just can't get the people who don't like WDW? A chance to be a kid, do stuff you normally wouldn't do and visit places you may not get to otherwise??

  3. I've been to both parks twice. My favorite is by far, Walt Disney World and Epcot is my favorite too! My husband has never been to either park and so I keep telling him once we get back to the States we have to go. I'm hoping to make it to Disneyland Paris before we leave Europe.

  4. I took OccDoc on a surprise trip to Dinsey World (his first time) for graduating from medical school. We did a segway tour around Epcot - it was so much fun. That whole place is my favorite! When he gets back from deployment we're definitely going to check out Disneyland this summer.

  5. I have been to Disney World 5 times... once as a teen, once just hubby and I, once hubby, kids and I, once just kids and I (post divorce), and once with my extended new family. What is the point of this ramble???? It was different each and every time just because of who I was with. Enjoy your trip with your hubby.... It will be amazing....

  7. Never been to Disney World, but my parents will be there next week on vacation --- I'm so jealous. I grew up in California so we used to go to Disneyland about once a year. Then while dating Ryan I took him there one summer. It's been too long since I've been back, but with little ones it's not really worth the effort.

I HAVE been to Tokyo Disney (which is like 1/2 the size as the one in Cali with twice as many people). Didn't enjoy that much. But I did love Tokyo Disney SEA. Now, that was a fun park!

  9. My first trip to Disney was just last year-Disneyland since it was less than a day drive from home in Utah. Boy did I think there were a lot of things not suitable for my 3-year-old! But, we LOVED it. Didn't get to go into California Adventure. We'll do that next time.

  10. I've never been to DisneyLand, but I've grown up with Disney World. My mom is from central Florida and remembers it being built! And my cousins who grew up in FL worked there in their teenage years (did you know they send you to Smile School?). I haven't been back in about 4 years, but I'm itching to go! I even had a free ticket last year that I got from volunteering that I never used :( I love EPCOT as well, but I really wanna hit Animal Kingdom again. Last time I went to that one, it had just recently opened and I know it's grown some.

  12. I grew up 20 mins from Disneyland. I LOVE it. I am mad because I can't go for a while. California Adventure is pretty eh, take it or leave it. My husband I had spent 2 hours there and we were done and headed over to Disneyland. I haven't been to WDW yet but I heard it is wonderful too. They are just different. WDW has so many different parts and in California there are just 2.

  13. We are huge Disney fans in this house. We actual bought into the Disney Vacation Club in early 2009, so our plan is to go every year, especially while our boys are growing up. I grew up going to Disneyland and I love it. Disney World does seem more like a resort though, but that could just be because I've never lived in FL. We were in DL in November and had a blast. CA adventure has a new show called "World of Color" that is truly breathtaking - enjoy!

  14. I grew up 20 minutes from Disneyland, so my family went all the time :) I haven't been since California Adventure opened, but my friends have told me it's worth going to at least once just to see it! I would love to go to Disney World one of these days though.

  15. I live about an hour and 30 minutes from Orlando Florida so we have always gone to Disney World. I've always been curious to see how different Disney Parks vary as well.
    Have a great Sunday

  16. Disney World is definitely my favorite. I haven't been since 2003 when we took a huge family trip (aunts, uncles, cousins). The hubby doesn't have the same love that I do but I can't wait until we can start taking our son...hopefully next year.

  17. I've only been to WDW but I absolutely LOVE it. I would go every single year if I could. I went a few times growing up and as an adult I didn't think it was something I would ever enjoy, but figured I would trudge through it for my kids. Well I was wrong! After taking my kids the first time I loved it so much we've been back twice since then!

  18. Believe it or not, I have never been to any Disney park! According to my husband, though, we will be taking our two small boys to Disney Paris before our tour in Germany is over! I can't wait!

  19. Thanks for stopping by my blog today :)

I have never been to Disney World but as a native of Southern California, I have been to Disney Land many times. I haven't made it to California Adventure (the sister park in Anaheim) but I hear it is awesome so be sure to get the passes that let you go to both!

  20. I went to Disneyland Paris and Disney World and I loved both haha..so I have no favorite, really. If I had to choose I'd probably choose Disneyland Paris just because it was my first time at any Disney park and I was with my hubby in Paris. I even cried because it was so cool.

    I'm a dork.
