Rings...

I saw that Rebekah at Life With The Edwards was linking up Mrs. Yellow Ribbons to show off their rings.  I'm not gonna lie, I've been lacking inspiration lately.  Life has been normal, busy and very unblog worthy.  So I'm going to participate because it's fun...and it gives me something to write about!

Show us your rings...
Did you look at rings together?
We did.  While we were out one evening for dinner at the mall, we decided to look at rings.  We had talked about it and knew we wanted to get married.  I showed him some that I liked...more on the plain side.  I didn't want anything larger than a 1/2 carat since I have a tendency to go to countries that aren't wealthy.  I didn't want something that would draw lots of attention.  I also have small hands and when I tried one some of the ornate rings I didn't like the way they looked for felt.

For the wedding band I tried on some with diamonds but I didn't like the way they looked.  I love how they look on everyone else, just not on my hand!  Plus we waited until 3 days before the wedding to buy the bands.  Go us!  We were trying to save money for moving & our honeymoon so only one of us could get a "pricey" ring.  I already had a diamond and I wanted him to have the band he really liked instead of a plain one.  I love his band...and so does he!

Do you like your ring? Did you from the beginning?...and be honest!
Yup, I loved my ring.  I had kinda wanted a diamond in the middle and two smaller ones on the side.  I didn't get that BUT I loved it.  I still love it.  He did tell me that I'll get the two smaller ones someday.  I like the suspense and it gives me something to look forward to!
How often do you wear your rings?
I wear my rings all the time.  I do tend to play with them, spin them around my finger and sometimes they migrate to the other hand.  I have freaked out cause they were missing...they were on my right hand.

Now that I think of it...I have taken them off when I wash washing really greasy dishes, hand mixing food or putting my hands in dye. So maybe once or twice.  That's it!  They DO NOT come of my fingers!

Do you clean your rings?
I'll have them cleaned when we're at the mall and we remember.  I should do it more often.

What went through your mind the very first time you saw your ring?
I can't believe he's proposing right now!  I hope I don't drop it off the side of the boat!  We were on a sunset cruise and I had already had some champagne and was feeling it a little.  I was in shock because I was not expecting it.  I knew it was coming but didn't think it was going to be that night.

You can head over to Mrs. Yellow Ribbons to join in!

  1. What a neat idea. I'd have to find a picture and have it scanned into the computer or something. Or maybe take a digital picture to put on the computer.

My have been feeling my blog has gone from the fun of Forensic Classes to now just boring day-by-day. I need to find something fun to do.

  3. This is a really cute idea!! =) Haha speaking of rings (I literally never wear mine, I usually remember to put it on when I'm leaving the house - but when I'm home it's on a counter somewhere)

WELL - needless to say, apparently yesterday when I was cleaning off the kitchen counter I threw my ring in the garbage. TJ LUCKILY found it sitting pretty on a green tea bag. Yep, no joke. I haven't taken it off since yesterday. YIKES!

  5. I probably wear my ring once a month...my husband wears his everyday and every night! He teases me, but doesn't make a big deal out of it!

I like your picture...we never took pictures of our hands and rings!

    Cheers!

Love your banner verse. Hub's groom's cake was an open Bible with that verse written in icing. :)

  11. I think the question was how often do you wear your ring!! Being married for 30 some odd years I wear it daily, but take it off at night!! No reason why - and I still love my rings after all these years
