The Rock and Worship Road Show put in an appearance in Seattle so we decided to go! It may have had something to do with the fact that
Jars of Clay was performing...one of my favorite bands. I've wanted to see them for YEARS! I did see them in December 2008 but it was for a Christmas concert. It was great but I still wanted to see them again. With tickets being only 10 bucks it was a no brainer about going.
Mercy Me,
Matt Maher,
Thousand Foot Krutch,
The Afters,
LeCrae, and
Anthem Lights also performed. There was something for everyone and we loved the mix of genres. If you live in any of the cities that they are playing in this week you should go!
It was a great night of music. I love the worship songs...it's a balm for my spirit. It was a little slice of heaven. I miss singing songs other than hymns in church sometimes. And I miss the guitar, drums and all other instruments really. When I married The Man I became a conservative Lutheran. We sing hymns. Every Sunday to the piano or organ. Don't get me wrong, I love me some hymns and the piano too. However, I've been going to the same church for a year and a half and I'm just starting to recognize some of the hymns. We don't sing the sames ones a lot so it's going to take some time to learn them!
love jars of clay! and for only $10? that's a steal. glad you had fun!

This sounds awesome! I love Matt Maher and Jars of Clay. I've already looked it up, and unfortunately this isn't coming my way :(
ReplyDeleteI love hymns too, but I know what you mean. But I especially like when people re-do favorite hymns with drums and guitars and "rock them out."
So much fun! I have loved Jars of Clay for ... wow, over ten years now - what a wonderful concert!
ReplyDeleteHaving moved to the UK, I'm a bit out of touch with the Christian rock music scene - there are some great bands out there (as you know). Sounds like a great concert! XoL
