1. Which was the best day of your life- Wedding day or Homecoming day?
This one was easy for me....wedding day. I was so excited and so ready to marry The Man. We had endured a 6 month deployment along with living on separate coasts. I was ready to become the Mrs and move cross country to start a new adventure. I think that only thing(s) that will compare to that day is when we our children are born. Homecomings are amazing but I don't think they will ever compare to our wedding day.
2. Were you a part of the joining the military question or did you sign up for the relationship when your man was already in the military?
We met while he was in sub school so I was not part of the decision for him to join. I think it's safe to say that if he hadn't we might not have met (even though we met online, I was looking for people who were within 2-3 hours or closer of me). The deployment we experienced while we were engaged was good for us and it gave me a taste of what married military life was going to be like for us. It was so much easier going into this TDY having an idea of what it would be like.
3. What is your favorite Disney movie and why?
This is really hard cause I like a lot of Disney movies. I really enjoy Little Mermaid and Sleeping Beauty.
Now that I think about it, it's probably easier to say what Disney movies I don't like. That would be Pinocchio and Snow White.
4. What is your favorite family activity to do on the weekends?
In nice weather it's to jump in the with the pup, roll down the windows, play some good music and drive somewhere. It doesn't matter where we go. We will often decided right before we get in the car. We like to go someplace with water so Molly can swim since that makes her a very happy puppy.
In yucky weather I like to curl up the sofa with The Man and watch movies. Miss Molly usually joins us too.
5. Where do you secretly wish you could be stationed with you/your SO's line of work?
I'd really love to spend a few years in Guam. Yes, I know it's small and has snakes. Italy would be nice to but that's a long shot. I'd be ok with Japan. And honestly, if we could stay here in WA for his career I'd be ok with that too. My parents might not be as they are pulling for Groton, CT since it's close to them!
Have a wonderful weekend!
My family lives in the PNW and your picture/header just made me miss it a little!
ReplyDeleteI found you on MFF :)
Grilled Pizza??? sounds yummy....
ReplyDeleteI have a friend in Groton! And I love Little Mermaid!
ReplyDeleteStopping by from MilSpouse Fill-in!
My friends are begging me to talk Hubby into staying in Groton, too! Unfortunately, that would mean longer hours on the boat and longer deployments, but it's nice to know that people want you back, right? :)
ReplyDeleteThe snakes part of Guam is a lie. In two years I saw two of them. TWO. And one was dead. There are a gajillion other reasons I'd give you to not go to Guam, but snakes is not one of them. If you are outdoorsy then go! There is a never-ending list of Boonie Stomps (hikes), tons of snorkeling, and it's a great place to become dive certified if you aren't already. The people are very, very hospitable, but they call it island life for a reason; the lack of motivation for anything there really put a bad taste in my mouth. If your husband lists Guam anywhere in his top 5, you're likely to get orders. So if you do wind up going, feel free to hit me up with some questions! We just left there in March when our sub changed home ports to Pearl Harbor.
ReplyDeleteI think Guam would be a wonderful place to be stationed. I hoping hoping it might be a possibility that my Sailor can try for after we finish this shore duty rotation we are on. I found your blog from Queen of His Heart's blog. I am always happy to find more Navy Wives who blog, to connect with! I am now following you and looking forward to reading more!
