Dear Mom

Dear Mom,

For 32 years I’ve had the privilege of being your daughter.  There 19137_253634693506_512948506_3497332_4125170_nwere times I thought you were the best mom ever, times when you were the worst mom ever (why won’t you buy me a $75 pair of jeans?!?) and times when I took you for granted.  I know that not everyone has a mom who loves them like you love me.  I am truly thankful for you and for your love and support.

You’ve ALWAYS been there when I needed you (except for that time when you and Dad were in PA and Iggymans dropped the live mouse on my bed and you guys refused to come home to get the mouse.  All you did was laugh.  That was not cool.  At least it’s funny now!)  Thank you.  I can’t tell you how much it means to me to know that you’re in my corner cheering me on.

6448_130395800691_753970691_3738980_5263351_nAs I am getting ready to embark on my own adventure of being a mom, I’m so glad I have you as an example.  No matter what was going on in your life, from having to get bills paid, to taking care of dad while he was sick, I knew I was important to you and loved.  That’s what I want for my daughter.  I want her to know that no matter what is happening in life or in the world, she is loved and is important to The Man and I.  As I look back on my childhood I don’t remember all the details and everything that happened.  I do remember spending time with you and enjoying it.  I know we have a great relationship today because of the time we spent together when I was a kid and as I grew.  226201_1036581082315_1459125573_30095695_4016916_nThank you for investing in me.  You have shaped me into the women I am today.  I’m praying for and looking forward to having the same kind of relationship with my daughter.

Thank you for already fielding calls about the silliest things.  Thank you for showering your granddaughter with gifts already.  I’m so, so thankful that you’ll be here when she’s born.  Thank you for being willing to help when she first arrives and I’m learning how to be a mom.  Thank you for coming now, while she’s still growing.  Munchkin is blessed to have you as Nana.  I’m looking forwarMom and Id to her getting to know you and loving you as much as I do!

I love so much,

Poe

Someday, when Munchkin has her own blog, you'll be reading something just as lovely from her on Mother's Day!

I love to hear your thoughts, so please share! If you know us in real life, please refrain from using our names to help us keep some semblance of privacy.

Also, I ignore comments that only ask for a follow back. The best way to get me to YOUR blog is to leave comment showing that you've read SOMETHING on my blog. Thanks!
