We went to a free local Easter event this past weekend. I thought it was ok but Munchkin had fun!
She wasn’t sure about the Easter Bunny.
She did enjoy getting her face painted. She picked out the bunny all by herself too!
We went because I wanted to take her to the Egg Hunt. This was the first year for the event and you could tell. They had eggs laying on the grass is a small, roped off area. Apparently they weren’t expecting very many people to show up. A couple of teenagers (or early twenties anyway) tried to keep order but it didn’t work very well. When they announced that the kid who got the most eggs would get a prize, all was lost. They tried to let the 0-3 year olds get a head start but it didn’t work that way. People were pushing and shoving. Munchkin got a couple of eggs. The hunt was over in three or four minutes. There were kids crying and and just general craziness.
They were setting up a bounce house but we left because I knew there would be too many kids for Munchkin. They also had vendors there and we visited a few while waiting for the egg hunt. I’m hoping that if they do it again next year the Egg Hunt is better organized. It was fun, even with the chaos!

Looks like fun! I can't believe how big she is getting! Are you finding out if #2 is a boy or a girl?
ReplyDeleteHopefully this will be a better event next year. Most of the ones I've seen do separate hunts for different age groups (0-3, 3-5, etc.) Looks like it was a nice day, though! And now she understands that Easter egg hunt concept, too.
ReplyDeleteHaving a little one is hard at egg hunts. You have to be very organized. Hope next year is better.
ReplyDeleteawe, hopefully it will go better next year!
