WWII Airplanes

There were some WWII airplanes at our local airport recently.  One of them was a B-17, which is The Man’s favorite plane.  So of course we needed to go see them.  There was also a P-51 Mustang.  There was supposed to be a B-24 but it was missing.  It was fine, we had a great time seeing the two planes that were there.  We got to go inside the B-17 as it was during WWII.  There wasn’t a lot of space.  If I was any bigger I wouldn’t have fit, so I’m glad it was now and not a month from now.  I can’t imagine what it was like flying missions in one of these.  The men who flew them were incredible brave.

  1. My personal favorite is "The Jug" (P-47 Thunderbolt) but I love B-17s as well!

  4. Looks like so much fun! When we were at Rucker, my husband was excited to check out the armament museum at Eglin AFB in FL. He has a love of all things aviation :)

  5. There were only planes so it was short visit but it was perfect for us. Munchkin is now obsessed with airplanes. We live near the local airport and have several small planes fly over us daily. She loves to wave to them:) I'm thinking a a visit the the Museum of Flight in Seattle might be in order:)

I would expect your hubby to like all things aviation since he's a pilot! Has he ever taken you flying?
