September 11

It's hard to believe that it's been 9 years since September 11, 2001.  It seems like so long ago and in some ways it seems like just yesterday.  I, like so many others, remember exactly what I was doing and what that day was like.

I was a senior in college.  I can easily recall feelings of shock, disbelief, sadness and fear.  I am proud and thankful to be an American.  I am proud of our military and the families that support them.  I am proud of our firefighters, police and EMTs and the families that support them.  I am thankful for those who are still fighting and for those who protect us every day and are ready to respond to any crisis.

I'm off to enjoy a sunny Saturday and some college football.  While I go about my day, I will be remembering 9 years ago.  I hope you will be too.

    I too remember exactly what I was doing on 9-11-01 but I also remember that my oldest son was at a bowling benefit on 9-11-04 that he and his brother were to be at. Instead only my oldest and his dad (my dh were there because his younger brother was unexpectedly in PICU. Lots of memories fill my heart and mind on this day each year.
