A Month of Thanks; Education

I'm thankful that I was able to go to college.  Not just any college but the college of my choice.  I was able to go to my first choice school.  I only applied to one college and thankfully they accepted me!  I attended Nyack College in Nyack, NY.  It's about 3 1/2 hours from my parent's house.  I have so many great memories from college.  I always smile when I come across old photos from then.

I learned so many things while I was there.  I learned a lot in the classroom and I learned outside of the classroom too.  I made some great friends there, some I keep in touch with and others that I've lost touch with.  I'm so thankful for J, one of my friends from college.  We cheered together and my senior year was her freshman year.  She lived about an 45 minutes south of me and I would give her a ride home since it was on my way.  It was on those rides we got to know each other.  I had an easy last semester and managed to convince her to play when she should study.  We had some great times!  We still do too.  We've been in each other's weddings and share a wedding anniversary as well.  J only attended Nyack for her freshman year and often says it was so we would be friends.  One of the things I love most about our friendship is that we can go for long periods of time without talking/emailing/texting but when we get together it's like no time has passed.

I don't take my education for granted.  I know that there are many people who would like to go to college but they can't afford it or they can't go to the school that they would like too.  I'm so thankful that I was able to get a good, quality education.
