Visited States/Countries Maps

So where along the way while I was surfing the web I came across this interesting website.  You click on the states/countries you've been to and it tells you what percentage you've been to.  I'm not sure why I find it so cool.  Maybe because I like to see how much I've traveled?  Here's my US map:

I've visited 38 states...that's 76% of the US.  Making 3 cross country drives in a year and a half helped a lot.  Doing the northern route for one, a middle route for another and a southern route for the last one really helped.  I'd like to visit all 50 states.  I wish I could pick just one as a favorite.  I have many that I want to visit again, like Wyoming and Alaska.  I really want to go to Colorado.  Not sure why, I just think it must be a beautiful state.  Maybe someday I'll learn to ski or snowboard and than I'll have a really good reason to visit!

Here's my world map:

It's a lot less traveled.  Only 11 states or 4.88% of the world.  I think we need to get some world travel going on, don't you?!?!?

I think it would be cool if you checked out the maps and posted your own, but that's just me.  You don't have too.

Out of all the states you've visited, what's your favorite one?  Why?

  2. That's pretty cool. Although, I haven't been to too many places. However, my favorite state that I have visited would probably be Kentucky. When I was there, I loved the fog in the mountains and touring the caves! It was unlike anything I have ever seen!

  5. First of all, thank you so much for my anniversary wishes! I had a wonderful day :)

Secondly, this map thing is awesome! I'm going to do it too. I think we visited almost 20 of them on our road trip out west. My favorite would have to be New Mexico. Las Cruses is one of my favorite destinations and White Sands is absolutely breathtaking! Thanks for sharing with us :)

  7. Awesome website! I'm checking it out now. My favorite state I've been to is Alaska. It's absolutely gorgeous there!! I live in Michigan...and you haven't been here yet! I would recommend summer time and then going to the UP (upper peninsula). It's really pretty there. I live in the lower peninsula and I like it here, but the UP is much better. I think you'd like visiting the Mackinac Bridge!! They have an island there, no cars allowed, have to take a boat, lots of fudge on the island...it's sooo pretty!! :)

  9. What a great idea! I haven't been to that many states, but as you wrote, road trips helps and I have done a few in the USA.
I am European and I have made several road trips as well as train back packing trips in Europe. I have probably seen more of Europe than USA.

My favorite state? I am a Pacific Northwest fan even though I live in Texas now. I miss living 20 miles from Yosemite National Park. Oregon is great and I would love to go to Washington state..Colorado is one of my favorite states I have visited.
