It's Friday again...

and that means Milspouse Friday Fill-in with Wifey!  Head on over to link up and/or read what other Milspouses have to say.

1.  What are some  of your ideas for staying connected with family...you know, those people we moved thousands of miles away from?

Blogging is a great way to keep family & friends in the loop with what we're doing, as is Facebook.  Skype is great to SEE them when you're talking and of course the phone and old fashioned letters & packages are great too!

2.What's the most romantic gift you have GIVEN?

I'm not the most romantic person.  Sometimes I think romance can be overrated.  Don't get me wrong, it's nice to have and I enjoy it as much as the next girl.  To me, there are times I find it in the day to day mundane things...you know, the things you do that you don't think about.  The things you do for your spouse becuase you love them...like having dinner ready when The Man comes home hungry and tired. Letting him sleep in.  Letting him putter and do who know what downstairs.  Sending song lyrics that remind me of him/us when he's deployed.  Listening to him rant about his day.  Being there for him when he's struggling.  Watching ANOTHER episode of Family Guy.  Buying him more smarties and enabling him in this candy addiction.  Greeting him with a hug and kiss when he gets home from work.  You know...all those little things.  They add up and speak louder than words.

3.  Would you encourage your child, if they came to you and wanted to join the military?

We don't have kids yet but we've talked about this one already.  Neither one of us is against them joining the military.  The Man is adamant that they would NOT enlist.  They would need to go in as an Officer.  I'm not as adamant as he is but I get his point.  I do understand that college is not for everyone and if they wanted to enlist I HOPE I'll be ok with that.

4.  What is your least favorite bill to pay and why?

There's this one credit card bill that I have that it just bugs me every time I pay it.  It's almost paid off thankfully.  It's mostly the dental work I had to have done in 07 & 08.  Yup, it's 2011 and I'm still paying it off.  Oral surgery is SO EXPENSIVE.  At least my implants look good!

 5.  What is the proudest moment you've had as a military spouse?

I'm super proud of the fact that a little event did not derail The Man's career and he's still working hard.  He does his best to problem solve and figure out issues & problems on the boat.  Most days he even enjoys his job!

Hope you have a great weekend!
