TDY Goals

Even though The Man isn't going to be gone for a long time, I still think it's a good thing to have goal to accomplish while he's gone.  My list:

1.  Lose weight.  I'm thinking about joining Weight Watchers online to help me with this one.  The Man & I have also decided to see who can lose the most weight while we're apart.

2.  Take Miss Molly on a walk at least twice a week.  This will help with #1 and help me to have a happy puppy.  She's going to miss daddy a lot so I'm hoping walks will give her something to enjoy.

3.  Keep the garden weed-free and watered.  I have a black thumb and I'm hoping that I don't kill the garden.  I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

4.  Focus on my business.  I've been letting it slide a little and let me tell you, that's bad.  Very, very bad.  So hopefully I'll be able to get organized and get a system going that I can keep up when he gets back.  On can hope anyway!

5.  Keep up with laundry.  The only thing The Man wants me to have done when he gets home is all the laundry.  He doesn't care if the house is a mess as long as every since piece of clothing/towels etc is washed, dried, folded and put away.

6.  Clean.  I need to do some deep cleaning and what better time than when he's gone?  I can almost guarantee that I can find a million excuses to keep from doing this one so we'll see if it really happens or not.

Please feel free to ask me how they goals are going!

Do you make goals when your spouse leaves?

  1. That is a good list. I always have a much easier time losing weight when my hubby is gone. We're are trying really hard to have a healthier lifestyle, and specifically eating habits, now that he is home.

And I can never keep up with laundry. That said, I need to go change a load ;)

  2. Having a husband who travels causes new routines to happen...mine is a morning person and I'm not...we've been together a long time and I have nearly always gone to bed when he does...but when he isn't here, I got to bed whenever..I've been known to be up at 2 AM...
And meals can be very simple...
good luck with the weight loss.

  3. When Dylan was gone, I threw myself into projects galore. I had to get our house together by myself so that took quite a bit of time. I love Weight Watchers! I do it online and I just love it. :)

  5. That looks like a good list. I always plan stuff for the time that my husband is gone. Practical stuff but also a few fun goals, like a place to see or something creative to do.

  7. I definitely had a to do list when J was gone for eight weeks last summer and got through most if not all of it! He is going to be gone again this weekend and I'm hoping I can use the time to get crafty :)

    Good luck with your list!

  10. I'm not sure what is so hard about the laundry, you don't use a washboard, you put it in, take it out, put it in the dryer, take it out and then fold it. I know men can't do laundry and anything else (they must use a different size washboard), but come on ladies, laundry!!!!

  11. Great Goals... and YOU CAN DO THEM!!!

The new Weight Watcher program is my favorite plan ever and I have been a WW gal on and off for 20+ years....... easiest to follow and I see the results....

  12. Argh!! I obviously meant how boring THAT is not you for cleaning!! Sorry about that- just noticed with the reply.

Is it wrong that I like cleaning the kitchen (and only that) with loud music to sing along with? Hope you managed to get through your list.
