Songs of the Week

This week has been harder than the others, mostly because I haven't been as busy.  One good thing is that I was able to talk to The Man!  I had been expecting a phone call and it made my day when I did.  In some ways though, it makes it harder having him gone.  I miss him more.  I was going to do Here Without You by 3 Doors Down cause the feelings that that song invokes in me is what I'm feeling.  I watched the video and this came up after so I watched it to.  It made me cry- watching the goodbyes and the homecomings.  Videos like this always make me cry, even more so when The Man is gone.

When I'm Gone, 3 Doors Down

And on a happier note, I have another song.  Last weekend was glorious with the sun and the warmth.  It's back to rainy chilly weather and I'm so over it. I think this song sums up where I'd rather be:

I don't know who the dude is.  There was a video of what looked like the original video the the embed option was turned off.  Boo.  So this is what we got stuck with.  Oh well.

Head over to Goodnight Moon to link up and find some great new songs!

  1. good choices - and I thought I was done crying but the goodbyes & hellos in the first video really got to me! Blame it on the fine wine I am enjoying right now. :)

    And.....confession: The very first concert that I EVER went to was the Beach Boys, and they played Kokomo! I think I was 12, and it was at a water park in Palm Springs. They had this huge volleyball tournament area with elevated grass seating all around, so they built their stage down there and the whole waterpark came out for the concert....except those of us who realized there were suddenly NO LINES for the 'good slides' so I was getting a fierce water-wedgie when they played Kokomo. Ahhhh, the memories. HA HA HA

  2. I would freak out every time I heard when I'm gone when Mr. H was on deployment (just because of that video...).

    You'll get your holiday soon :) Sunshine and the beach are always good for the soul :)

    Great choice in songs!

  3. Wow, two awesome songs!
    I never thought the first one would make me cry, but watching the video I got a little teary-eyed. It reminded me of the day that I had to say goodbye :(
    And of course Kokomo! It reminds me of the Muppets! :D Hopefully the sun will come back out for you soon.
    Thanks for sharing :)

  4. The first song happens to be one in my iPod. But Kokomo is a good flashback :)

    Deployment is hard and sometimes it's hard to keep a smile on your face. Trust me I know I am currently counting down the days.

    Second video made me smile & wish I was on a Beach somewhere with my man. Thanks for sharing!

  11. I totally understand what you mean about the phone call. It can be so wonderful to hear his voice, but when the call is over it's that much harder that he's gone. Hang in there! Love the beach boys song {although I always envision the Kermit the frog/muppets version lol}
