The first thing we had scheduled for our trip to Disneyland was a character breakfast. The Man, Nana & I were all excited for Munchkin to meet some of her favorite characters and we thought that this would be a perfect way to do it. We decided on the Minnie & Friends breakfast at the Plaza Inn at the end of Main Street in the park. I’ve done several character meals at Walt Disney World and I was expecting to see four characters. I was blown away by the number of characters that visited us while we ate breakfast! We had twelve different characters come by our table. It was hard to find time to eat because there was always someone new coming by! We had an 8:40 reservation and when we got to the restaurant it was pretty empty. So several of the characters came by our table two and three times.
Munchkin did so well with the characters! The only ones she didn’t care for were Captain Hook and Rafiki from Lion King (which she hadn’t seen yet. That problem has been rectified.) She was super excited to see Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Pluto, Winnie the Pooh, Tigegr and Eeyore. She also did well with Chip & Dale, The Fairy Godmother from Cinderella. She was indifferent to Max, Goofy’s son (or nephew? I have no clue…I was indifferent to him too!) We had to wait the longest to see Tigger and Munchkin just watched home visit with the tables before us. She was so excited when he got to our table! He spent a lot of time with each guest, bouncing and letting families take lots of photos. I’m just glad he didn’t bounce any of us!
The food was good too. Mickey Mouse waffles, fresh fruit, omelets made to order (I didn’t like mine but everything else was good!) pastries, and lots of other breakfast foods. It was hard to eat with so many characters! Who wants to eat when you can meet friends?!?! We will be doing this breakfast again, that’s how much we enjoyed it!

I love the character breakfast, it is one of my favorite things about Disneyland.
ReplyDeleteThat looks awesome!!! I wish we had done a character meal when we went to WDW, but Stinker was so young (2) that he was just scared of the characters. Looking forward to taking the family to Disneyland in a year or two :) (maybe, hopefully)
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm calling to add this to our weekend Monday morning! We're doing dinner at Goofy's Kitchen in the hotel one night, but I seriously want to see all the characters EVER and I think meals are the best way! FUN, FUN, FUN!
ReplyDeleteAwesome! We did the 8:45 reservation because it allowed us to get into the park before it opened (20 minutes before the reservation) and it allowed us to get photos of the castle and Walt & Mickey with very few people around. And enjoy Main Street almost empty. And we were able to get a ride on the Astro Orbiters in before breakfast too!
ReplyDeleteI was nervous that she would be scared of the characters but was happy she wasn't. She did prefer to have on of us holding her but that's nothing new:) We're also hoping to make it back in 2-3 years...before Punkin turns 3 cause kids under 3 are free!
ReplyDeleteIt's just so much fun and a great way to start the day:)
ReplyDeleteWe just went to Disney World: Magic Kingdom. I didn't know what you could do there. I definitely want to do a meal with the characters one of these times!
