More Crafty Stuff

So last fall while I was browsing on the internet I came across some wooden candy corn.  I'm not a huge of candy corn.  There's something about it that I just don't like.  It kinda tastes like plastic to me.  I do think they are cute as decorations though.  I was remembering the ones I saw online and decided to make some.

The Man sanding the candy corn.
I started by finding a template online.  Than I gave it to The Man so he could cut it out of some of the random wood we have around.  I would have cut it myself but since I haven't used a power saw since 7th grade (Thanks Mr. Nelson!) I decided to let him do it.  Plus it's his saw and if it broke I didn't to be responsible.  Then we sanded it down (I sanded another piece, a good will find.  I"ll be sharing soon!).  Then I added some yellow, orange and white paint and then put some Mod Podge over it.

Here's the finished project:

I'm getting kinda crafty...copying others ideas anyway.  I might come up with some of mine own soon.

Have you been making any thing crafty lately?

  1. That's really cute! I have been trying to think of cheap crafty things to do for decorating this year. Holiday decorations can get so expensive. This seems really fun! :)

  3. Those are way too cute! And I felt like I was going to be crafty by painting letters for the kids' rooms! LoL! So don't feel crafty anymore.

  5. Hi! I'm over from the Weekly Roundup!

Those are too cute! I'm the same way, I like the look of candy corn, but NOT the taste! I feel like I'm the only person in the world who doesn't like candy corn! Glad to know I'm not :)

  7. Those look great! I really want to get more crafty but I seem to be better at decorating (it's my new thing) than actually making things.
